VIDEO: Nachals Are B’chasdei Hashem Flowing as Rain is Falling in Eretz Yisrael


The nachals in northern Israel are B”H flowing again, as the rainfall during the past week has been significant, rain that has not been seen in the past five years or so.

The rainfall began on Tuesday and has been coming down steadily in most areas of the country, accompanied by colder temperatures.

The level of the Kinneret on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 was recorded at 214.24 meters, up 22cm (8.66 inches) in the past week, a most significant gain.

The numbers show the sign below sea level. The water level of the Kinneret is 5.44 meters lower from the upper red line and 1.24 meters lower from the bottom red line and 0.63 meters higher from the historic lowest water level ever measured in the Kinneret.

The Upper Red Line shows that the Kinneret is full (maximum capacity). When the level is reached, the Dganya Dam is opened.

The Lower Red Line height 213.0 meters below sea level. According to ecology experts with the decline of the water level under this line starts a damage to ecological balance and water quality begins to decline. After the arrival of water to this level it is forbidden to pump or use water from the Kinneret.

Historical Minister Water Level is the level below the pipes, so taking water from the Lake Kinneret becomes impossible in terms of performance.
