Housing Prices Drop To A 10-Year Low In Most Israeli Cities

A comparison of the prices of transactions executed in October 2018 – November 2018, compared to the prices of transactions carried out in September 2018 – October 2018, found that house prices fell by 0.4%.

A comparison of the transactions executed during the current period compared with the same period last year, i.e. October 2018 – November 2018, compared with October 2017 – November 2017, found that house prices fell by 2.3%.

When one takes a look at the districts, one finds the following results: Jerusalem (-1.4%), North (-0.7%), Haifa (0.9%), Center (-0.1%), Tel Aviv (-1.1%) and South (1.1%).

Following the decline, the chairman of Kulanu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon said: “We have registered another tremendous social and economic victory. We have to remember that we are acting contrary to the interest that characterized the Lapid-Netanyahu government, stop speculating on state land and place the right of young couples to buy an apartment at a fair price at the center of our policy.”

“The time has come to say clearly: There are politicians, interested parties and speculators who want to go back to a policy in which a small minority in Israeli society oppresses and abuses the majority of the public, who work hard to make a living.”

“I will not give in to the threats and the campaign of intimidation aimed at stopping our social projects. I will not raise taxes and I will not betray my obligation to act for those who are the foundation of Israeli society.”

  1. we have to thank Obama who stopped us from doing much building so price could sky rocket, and to thank his successor, Trump, who allowed us to continue to build so prices could come down….

  2. This is a good thing. However before celebrating let us see if this last after the elections. When you are in charge of the numbers, it is easy to cook them, for a while.
