Sudden Petira Of Rebbitzen Rochel Ganz A”H, Wife of Hagaon HaRav Yisroel Ganz

Rebbetzin Rochel Ganz A”H was niftar suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 77. She was the rebbetzin of HaGaon Rav Yisrael Ganz Shlita, one of the Roshei Yeshiva in Yeshivas Kol Torah L’Tzeirim and Rav of the Mattersdorf neighborhood of the capital.

Rebbetzin Ganz suffered a massive heart attack on Monday night, and was Niftar shortly after.

The rebbetzin was born in 5702 to famous architect R’ Yosef Sheinberg z”l, who specialized in institutions, yeshivos, shuls, hospital and nursing homes. He designed a number of shuls in Yerushalayim and communities around Israel, as well as mikvaos, Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak and the new campus of Shaare Zedek Hospital (as opposed to the former location of the hospital).

The rebitzen’s priority was to be as the rav’s side their entire life together, permitting the rav to carry on his avodas kodesh.

The rebitzen is survived by the rav, son HaRav Asher Ganz who is a rosh yeshiva in Yeshivas Melech in Bnei Brak, younger son HaRav Shlomo Aharon who is a son-in-law to Rav Baruch Weisbecker, Rosh Yeshivas Matisyahu, and son-in-law HaRav David HaKohen Munk, who authored the sefer Taharas Kohanim.

  1. They also have a son Rav Yona.

The rebbitzen was the one who would record a message each morning on their voicemail stating when the Rav would be accepting people that day. The message she recorded yesterday morning is still on there now.
