Women’s Rights Activists Challenge Decision By Central Election Committee Regarding Bnei Brak

Following the Central Election Committee’s decision not to hold mixed courses for Election Day poll watchers, the women’s lobby sent a harshly worded letter to the committee demanding a cancelation of the agreed to arrangement in the chareidi city, calling it ‘scandalous’.

This is not to say that women will not be included in the courses certifying poll watchers, but these classes will be held separately for men and women, and the women’s lobby insists that they be mixed classes with men and women together.

In the letter they write, “There is no justification for creating a separate framework for training given by the State of Israel. In the present case, neither the way of life of chareidim nor the Israeli law proves reason to create the new norm that is emerging here in a worrisome way of providing services to the chareidi public within the framework of segregation”.

  1. THERE ARE ARAB RESTAURANTS IN EAST JERUSALEM THAT DON’T PERMIT WOMEN. WHY DOESN’T THE ANTI JEWISH WOMEN’S LOBBY ACT ON THAT?
