SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Today, Tuesday, is day 77 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 801st day in Hamas captivity.

*IDF soldiers involved in counter-terror operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron on Monday night arrested three suspects. the suspects were turned over to the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) for interrogation.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*An event was held in Tel Aviv on Monday night to officially release a book honoring former PM Yitzchak Shamir. The book was published by the Jabotinsky Institute, and the event was attended by prominent members of the right-wing community, headed by opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu. PM Olmert also addressed the event.

*Balad members in Upper Nazareth on Monday morning protested as PM Olmert visited a school on opening day in the Arab municipality. They shouted the prime minister is unwanted in their community.

*A fire was reported in the Ohel Yaakov Shul in Elad during the night. There were no reports of injuries. No additional information is available at this time.
