SECURITY/DEFENSE:

*Today, Friday, is day 101 of the virtual Gaza ceasefire.

*Today is Gilad Shalit’s 824th day in Hamas captivity.

*Egyptian security forces shot and killed a Sudanese infiltrator at the border to Israel.

*An Israeli who mistakenly entered PA-controlled Kalandia on Jerusalem’s northern border was bombarded with rocks and knifed in a hand. He was extricated and transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital in the capital.

*Tens of Arabs pelted border police with rocks at the Shuafat Refugee Camp. Police used riot control adjuncts to restore order.

POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:

*Shaul Mofaz told activists in his home on Thursday that he will return to ‘active duty’ next week.

*In their White House meeting, President George W. Bush told Abu Mazen he hopes their dream will be realized.

*The Guardian reports US President Bush rejected another Israeli request to attack Iran, stating there is no change in America’s position.
