The IDF announced that the 551st Reserve Brigade Combat Team, operating under the 91st Division, has completed its seventh combat deployment and concluded a two-month mission in southern Lebanon aimed at eliminating threats to northern Israel.
During the operation, troops located hundreds of weapons, eliminated more than 80 Hezbollah terrorists, and destroyed over 200 terrorist infrastructure sites. Among the targets were a strategic underground tunnel network, two additional underground routes discovered in the village of Majdal Zoun, rocket launch positions, weapons depots and observation posts.
The IDF said the operation was part of its ongoing effort to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its terrorist infrastructure along Israel’s northern border.
“The IDF will continue operating to remove every threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and its forces,” the military said. “We will not allow the Hezbollah terrorist organization to restore its terrorist infrastructure or endanger the citizens of Israel.”
