The Israeli government on Tuesday approved the “Diplomacy Journey” program, a new initiative proposed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar aimed at equipping young Diaspora Jews with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to advocate for Israel on the international stage.

The six-week program will serve as a dedicated track within the existing “Journey” framework, providing participants with training in public diplomacy, outreach, and navigating international discourse while strengthening their connection to the State of Israel and the Jewish people. According to the government, the initiative comes amid what it described as unprecedented challenges facing Israel worldwide, including rising antisemitism, delegitimization campaigns, and the spread of false information.

The program is based on a successful pilot launched in 2016 in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry. Following its strong reception, the steering committee of the Masa project decided to expand it into a permanent program, citing the importance of investing in the next generation of Diaspora Jewish leaders to strengthen Israel’s standing around the world.

Netanyahu said Israel’s struggle is being fought “not only on the battlefield, but also on the international propaganda front,” adding that Israel must present its truth “in a clear, determined and effective voice.” He said the initiative will help develop a new generation of leaders who will emerge with greater knowledge, practical tools, and a deeper connection to the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

Sa’ar described the initiative as “a unique educational platform” that will enable young Jewish leaders to learn firsthand about Israel’s challenges while building stronger bridges between Israel and Jewish communities around the world. Masa CEO Meir Holtz welcomed the decision, saying it reflects the understanding that diplomacy begins with young people from across the globe who choose to come to Israel.
