An assassination attempt targeting a member of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s family was foiled at the last moment after intelligence was gathered indicating plans to carry out the attack, Col. (res.) Ronen Cohen, chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Protection of Senior Officials, revealed in an interview with i24NEWS.
“I want to reveal this for the first time,” Cohen said. “There was an assassination attempt against one of the family members, and it was stopped literally at the last minute. Intelligence was gathered. We understood there was an intention to activate the cell, and at the very last moment it was prevented.”
Cohen said the alleged assassination attempt took place after the elimination of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, adding that Israel is facing additional threats beyond drone attacks. “We’re not only dealing with drones. There’s another incident that I simply cannot reveal all the details about,” he said.
The revelation comes just days after the Ministerial Committee on Shin Bet Affairs approved extending security protection for Sara Netanyahu for the remainder of the prime minister’s lifetime and extending security for his sons, Yair and Avner Netanyahu, by an additional five years. According to the report, the decision was based on a high threat assessment and concerns that Iran and terrorist organizations are seeking revenge for the elimination of their senior leaders during the war.
Cohen did not disclose which member of the Netanyahu family was allegedly targeted, where the planned attack was to take place, who was behind the plot, or how it was foiled.

All mandani’s fault
The photo implies that the information came from Netanyahu himself. The fact is that this report is not even deemed newsworthy in Israel. It’s typical YWN sensationalism.
