The IDF announced that troops operating in the central and northern Gaza Strip uncovered and destroyed several Hamas weapons depots over the past week, including one hidden inside a mosque in northern Gaza.

According to the IDF, the weapons were intended for use against Israeli forces operating in the Yellow Line area as well as Israeli civilians. The military said the cache was destroyed to eliminate the threat.

The IDF said the discovery is another example of Hamas exploiting civilian infrastructure, including religious sites, to conceal weapons and support terrorist activity.

Before carrying out the strikes, the IDF said it issued advance warnings to civilians in an effort to reduce the risk of harm.

The military added that troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue operations to eliminate terrorist threats.
