Israeli police have arrested a man from Ramat Gan in connection with an attack on the offices of Channel 12 News in Tel Aviv that involved damage to the building’s entrance and the discovery of a threatening letter targeting journalists and public officials.

According to police, the incident occurred on July 28, when officers on routine patrol discovered that the glass entrance door to the Channel 12 offices on Hashkalah Boulevard had been shattered. A threatening letter addressed to media personnel and public figures was found nearby.

Investigators allege that the suspect, a man in his 40s, threw stones at the entrance before fleeing the scene and leaving the letter behind.

The investigation was led by the Tel Aviv District’s Major Crimes Unit in cooperation with the Ayalon Police and the Shin Bet. Police said the suspect was located and arrested on Thursday and has been taken in for questioning. A court-issued gag order on the investigation has since been lifted.

The arrest follows a series of attacks targeting Channel 12’s offices. In recent weeks, the building’s glass entrance has been damaged on multiple occasions, including one incident in which a masked individual was caught on camera throwing a brick at the entrance. Graffiti and threatening messages directed at Channel 12 journalists have also been reported near the offices.
