A two-year-old child died Monday after drowning in a swimming pool at a vacation rental in Moshav Sdot Micha, in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council.
Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah emergency teams rushed to the scene and found the toddler unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing. The teams began advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, assisted ventilation and medication.
The child was airlifted by an MDA helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem while CPR continued. Despite the extensive efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
