Former minister Chili Tropper, chairman of the “Zionist Home – Reservists” party, declared Tuesday that his party will not join any government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a video posted by the party, Tropper laid out three core principles, saying the party would only join a Zionist government, would work to broaden the coalition with parties that accept its principles, and “will not sit in any Netanyahu government.”

Tropper also pledged to make his party “the party of those who serve,” promising increased support for soldiers wounded in the war and saying government benefits should be shifted from those who avoid military service to those who serve.

He also highlighted education, personal security and reducing socioeconomic gaps as major priorities, arguing that Israelis in the Negev, Galilee and peripheral communities deserve greater opportunities and improved services.

The Religious Zionism party sharply attacked Tropper’s announcement, accusing him and Yoaz Hendel of promoting “fake unity” while effectively boycotting Religious Zionist voters and more than a million Likud voters who support Netanyahu for prime minister.

“This is not unity,” the party said, accusing Tropper of returning Israel to the political boycotts and divisions that existed before October 7.

United Party chairman Gilad Erdan also slammed Tropper, declaring, “Now things are clear: Vote Tropper — get Yair Golan.” Erdan said his party would refuse to join any narrow government and would instead seek a broad unity government encompassing both political blocs.
