Organizations assisting detained bnei yeshivos reported on Wednesday morning that an attempted arrest late Tuesday night in Bat Yam failed.

According to the reports, Military Police arrived at a home in the city after midnight in an attempt to arrest a ben yeshiva.

A “Tzvea Shachor” message was issued to Peleg Yerushalmi members, and protesters began arriving at the scene and causing a ruckus, forcing the Military Police to leave the area empty-handed without making the arrest.

The protesters broke into spontaneous singing and dancing, which continued for a long time.

The attempted arrest, the first carried out by the Military Police after a long period of refraining from proactive arrests, came shortly after Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara sent a letter to military and police officials demanding increased sanctions and enforcement against bnei yeshivos.
