Otzma Yehudit chairman and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir announced Friday that MK Tally Gotliv will be placed second on the party’s slate in the upcoming elections.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference held by the two at the Zionist Organization of America House in Tel Aviv.

According to Ben Gvir, Minister Yitzchak Wasserlauf agreed to move from the second spot to third to make room for Gotliv at the top of the slate. The move is expected to make Gotliv one of the most prominent figures on Otzma Yehudit’s slate for the next Knesset.

Gotliv’s move to Otzma Yehudit follows an agreement reached in recent days between Likud and party officials. Under the agreement, Gotliv will not be declared a breakaway MK, will not resign from the Knesset, and will continue serving as a Likud MK until the 26th Knesset is formed.

Once the candidate slates are formally submitted, Gotliv is expected to officially join the Otzma Yehudit slate. The move is also expected to open a spot on the Likud slate for another candidate, with Gila Gamliel mentioned as one possibility.

Ben Gvir, meanwhile, set an ambitious target for his party ahead of the elections, declaring that Otzma Yehudit is aiming for 15 seats. He said the final slate will include additional candidates who are expected to join the party ahead of the elections.
