Israeli intelligence assessments indicate that Iran is working to coordinate its regional proxies for a future simultaneous multi-front attack on Israel involving Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
The effort is intended to prevent the lack of coordination seen during the October 7 attack, with Tehran seeking to establish joint communications, planning and operational mechanisms among the groups from the outset, The Jerusalem Post reports.
Iran has also been working to restore coordination between Hamas and Hezbollah, while Quds Force officials have held discussions with Hezbollah, Houthi and Iraqi militia commanders about expanding the confrontation with Israel.
The broader effort reportedly includes rebuilding Iran’s so-called “Axis of Resistance,” restoring missile and drone capabilities, conducting joint exercises and strengthening operational ties between the groups.
