Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital conducted a major emergency drill simulating a deliberate biological terror attack, as Israel prepares for the possibility of a mass-casualty incident involving biological agents.

The exercise focused on the hospital’s ability to identify and treat large numbers of patients exposed to a biological threat, while coordinating between medical teams, emergency services and government authorities.

Officials said the protocols developed during the drill are expected to serve as national standards for hospitals throughout Israel.

The exercise was conducted in cooperation with the Defense Ministry and Health Ministry, with the goal of strengthening Israel’s preparedness for complex biological emergencies and ensuring that hospitals can continue providing care under extreme conditions.
