9/11 ANNIVERSARY: Israel And U.S. Commemorate 25 Years Since Terror Attacks

The U.S. Embassy in Israel, KKL-JNF and JNF-USA held a ceremony Thursday marking 25 years since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

The ceremony took place at Jerusalem’s 9/11 Living Memorial, the only memorial outside the United States bearing the names of all 2,977 victims and featuring a fragment of the World Trade Center Twin Towers.

The event was attended by U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky, JNF-USA CEO Russell F. Robinson, and senior Israeli fire officials and U.S. military representatives.

Suri and Harvey Morgenstern, whose daughter Nancy was killed in the attacks, also attended.

“On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we honor those who were murdered and reaffirm that terrorism knows no borders, religions or nationalities,” Ostrinsky said.

Ambassador Huckabee said the ceremony demonstrated the “enduring solidarity” between Israel and the United States and their shared resolve to confront terrorism and protect innocent life.

JNF-USA President Deb Lust Zaluda called the memorial “a bridge between two nations bound by shared values and a common destiny,” adding that remembrance must inspire continued resolve against hatred and terrorism.
