The IDF carried out five separate waves of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Monday, targeting terrorists involved in efforts to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities following the ceasefire.
According to data cited by Israel’s Channel 13, approximately 550 terrorists have been eliminated in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect, while the IDF says the level of collateral damage has fallen to its lowest point since the October 7 massacre.
A senior IDF officer said the current ratio stands at less than one civilian casualty for every terrorist eliminated — below 1:1.
“The IDF’s collateral damage in Gaza, certainly since the ceasefire, is unprecedented in global terms. The Americans are following us and studying the results. The eliminations are carried out using small, precision munitions,” the senior officer said.
The figures emerged amid a growing controversy in Israel over a film accusing IDF soldiers of deliberately and systematically killing Palestinians during the Gaza war.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir sharply rejected the allegations, describing the production as an effort to undermine both the Israeli military and the State of Israel.
“Based on the publications so far, this is not a film criticizing the IDF, nor is it an attempt to uncover the truth. It is based on blood libels, a deliberate distortion of reality, and false and serious accusations against soldiers and commanders,” Zamir said.
“This is an action against the State of Israel, not only against the IDF. It adopts the narratives of Israel’s enemies, defames our soldiers and commanders, and seeks to portray the IDF as deliberately acting unlawfully.”
Zamir ordered the establishment of a multidisciplinary team to develop ways of combating what the military says are false allegations against IDF soldiers. He also directed Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir to examine possible legal action related to the film and its creators, as well as potential information-security violations involving allegedly leaked classified material.
IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin has asked the filmmakers to provide military representatives with access to the full production so the army can respond directly to its allegations.
The IDF said the film relies heavily on anonymous testimony whose identities, military service and knowledge of the events being discussed cannot independently be verified.
The military stressed that its operations are directed against Hamas and other terrorist organizations, while extensive measures are taken to minimize civilian casualties despite Hamas’s systematic use of civilian areas for terrorist operations.
