The Degel HaTorah movement has begun preparing for elections, with the kickoff meeting held Monday evening at the movement’s headquarters in Bnei Brak.
The meeting was attended by veteran representatives Moshe Gafni and Uri Maklev, who are ending their Knesset tenures, along with Degel HaTorah’s new chairman MK Yaakov Asher, MK Yitzchak Pindrus, Moshe Rosenthal, Yehuda Weissfish, Dovid Zaltz, Dovid Ohana, and Eliyahu Baruchi.
Asher is also expected to serve as chairman of the United Torah Judaism party.

Other participants included Yitzchak Reich, head of the Rechasim Local Council; Menachem Shapira, director of the Degel HaTorah Municipal department; and party director Moshe Schiffman.

The participants discussed preparations for the election to the 26th Knesset and ways to mobilize voters on Election Day to support the joint United Torah Judaism slate.
A source who attended the meeting told Kikar HaShabbat it lasted more than an hour and was held with the full cooperation of Gafni and Maklev, alongside the new representatives.
