IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon uncovered launchers containing 32 rockets that were primed and aimed at Israel.
The weapons were discovered by the 55th Brigade Combat Team during searches of the security zone as part of ongoing efforts to locate and destroy Hezbollah infrastructure that could be used to attack Israel.
During the searches, the troops found a Hezbollah position containing an underground shaft, with the launchers and dozens of rockets nearby. The troops destroyed the position, shaft and launchers, eliminating the threat.
The military stressed that the launchers and rockets had not been deployed recently but were left in the area before the ceasefire took effect.
According to the military, the fact that the rockets were found aimed at Israel illustrates the lingering threat posed by Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon and the need to continue searching the area.
