A man convicted of an antisemitic hate crime after stalking, threatening and attacking a Jewish Israeli near Times Square in the aftermath of the October 7 massacre has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.
Yehia Amin, who pleaded guilty in March to third-degree assault as a hate crime, was sentenced Tuesday to 90 days behind bars followed by five years of probation under a plea agreement, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
The attack occurred on October 18, 2023, just 11 days after the Hamas massacre in southern Israel.
According to prosecutors, the 23-year-old Israeli victim was walking near Times Square with four friends, all wearing yarmulkes, when Amin recognized them as Jewish and began following them.
Amin repeatedly hurled vicious antisemitic threats at the group, telling them, “Hamas should kill more of you,” “May Allah kill all the Jews,” and “All Jews should die.”
As he followed the group, Amin played music from a speaker that he later described as “Hamas music.”
The Israelis attempted to seek help from a security guard and then headed toward a subway station to leave the area, but Amin continued following them for approximately 10 minutes.
“I want to kill you for Gaza,” he told them, according to prosecutors.
Amin eventually ran up behind the 23-year-old victim and punched him in the back of the head, causing substantial pain and minor injuries.
He fled following the attack, but the victim and his friends pursued him until an NYPD officer joined the chase and placed him under arrest.
Even after being taken into custody, Amin continued spewing antisemitic statements, including, “God kill all the Jewish people,” prosecutors said.

“american justice system” no surprise here
Bragg who was tormenting our venerated President Donald Trump שליט”א thinks just 90 days suffices Yehia Amin:- I surmize Yehia Amin is related to Idi Amin DADA and as is already well know, mamdani is a גילגול of Idi Amin DADA
VOTE BLAKEMAN- get the garbage out. Let’s go people- vote RED all the way. Let’s get the trash out.
Would Alvin Bragg be so easy on a white supremacist who did something like that to a black man? I have serious doubt about that.
Justice should be clear and firm, especially when hate drives an attack. This sentence sends a dangerous message. When someone stalks, threatens, and assaults another person because of their identity, 90 days in jail does not reflect the gravity of the crime. It fails to protect the community and uphold the law.
What can one expect from DA Alan Bragg? Had this been an attack on an African American I’m wondering how long the jail sentence would have been.
Bragg is Kathy Hochul’s man.
