The Vizhnitzer Rebbe was released Wednesday morning from Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center following a successful procedure to implant a pacemaker, bringing relief to Chassidim during the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah.

The procedure took place Tuesday morning and was performed by Professor David Luria, director of the hospital’s cardiac arrhythmia and pacemaker unit. The hospital reported that it concluded successfully, b’siyatta d’Shmaya.

As the procedure began at 8:30 a.m., tens of thousands of Vizhnitzer Chassidim across Eretz Yisrael and abroad gathered to daven for the Rebbe’s refuah sheleimah.

Special tefillos were held at the ohel of the Vizhnitzer Rebbes in Bnei Brak, at the Kosel and in Meron. A group of Chassidim also traveled specifically to the kever of the Noam Elimelech in Lizhensk, Poland.

On Monday evening, the Rebbe attended the engagement celebration of his granddaughter, a daughter of his son, HaRav Yaakov Mordechai Hager, Av Beis Din of Vizhnitz Elad. The chosson is a grandson of HaRav Eliezer Ernster, Rav of Kiryas Meor Chaim in Tzefas, and HaRav Chaim Halpern, Rav of the Divrei Chaim kehillah in Golders Green, London.

During the simcha, the Rebbe enthusiastically encouraged the singing, particularly the familiar niggun “Tamid Shtendig Freilich Zein,” whose words he connected to the new year, 5787.

Chassidim are asking Klal Yisrael to continue davening for the complete recovery of the Rebbe, Harav Yisrael ben Leah Esther, b’soch she’ar cholei Yisrael.
