Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says investigators are working to determine whether the Flydubai co-pilot who stabbed the captain and attempted to crash the Israel-bound plane was sent by someone to carry out the attack.

“We are now determining in the investigation whether he was sent,” Netanyahu said, warning that “whoever sent him will pay a very heavy price.” Netanyahu said the passengers who intervened prevented what could have been a “9/11-type disaster.”
