France, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway announced coordinated sanctions against Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and several settler leaders, accusing them of contributing to tensions in Yehuda and Shomron.
The measures include entry bans preventing Smotrich from traveling to those countries. The sanctions also target four leaders of settler organizations and 21 individuals alleged to have been involved in violent incidents in Yehuda and Shomron.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noรซl Barrot said the sanctions were imposed over what he described as Smotrichโs support for annexation in Yehuda and Shomron and the โre-colonizationโ of Gaza.
The move marks one of the most significant coordinated actions taken by Western allies against a sitting Israeli cabinet minister.
