President Isaac Herzog warned that Israel faces threats to the integrity of the upcoming election from both inside and outside the country, while urging political leaders not to cross red lines or turn opponents into enemies.
Ahead of Tisha B’Av, Herzog said the fast marking the destruction of both Batei Mikdash has reminded the Jewish people for 2,000 years of the price of internal polarization, division and hatred. “Elections are not a civil war,” he said. “They are a significant social and democratic process in the life of a nation.”
