WHITE HOUSE: Trump Administration Preparing to Extend Jones Act Waiver to Help Lower Gas Prices, Report Says

The White House is preparing to extend a waiver of the Jones Act beyond August 14 as President Trump seeks to lower gasoline prices following disruptions to U.S. energy supplies, Reuters reported.

The waiver allows foreign-built, foreign-owned and foreign-operated vessels to transport fuel between U.S. ports. No final decision has been made, and officials are still discussing the length and conditions of any extension.
