A newly published Board of Peace road map includes an International Verification Committee that was not previously disclosed or coordinated with Israel, Israeli journalist Ariel Kahana reported. The body would oversee Hamas’ disarmament and the demilitarization process in Gaza.
Israeli officials were angered after learning that Turkey and Qatar would participate. Netanyahu raised the objection in a letter to President Trump, while the Board of Peace said the two countries would serve only as guarantors and that the United States would retain decision-making authority.
