A member of Israel’s Chief Rabbinate Council has asked Chief Rabbi Kalman Bar to intervene following disciplinary action against religious Givati soldiers who refused to travel in an armored personnel carrier with a female paramedic.

The soldiers said their refusal stemmed from halachic concerns. The incident has sparked criticism over the treatment of religious soldiers seeking to maintain halachic standards during their IDF service.
