Secretary of State Marco Rubio has instructed U.S. embassies worldwide to deliver a formal diplomatic message on “Operation Economic Outcast” to the highest levels of their host governments, Axios reports.
Embassies were directed to press governments to immediately and systematically cut trade with Iran, identify illicit Iranian business activity, and warn that countries, companies and individuals that continue doing business with Tehran could face U.S. sanctions and lose access to the dollar system.
