Ireland announced that it will again boycott the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027 because Israel will be allowed to participate, with Irish broadcaster RTÉ saying it will neither compete in nor broadcast next year’s contest.
Ireland was among several countries that also stayed out of the 2026 competition over Israel’s participation. The decision extends a political dispute that has increasingly overshadowed the annual European music competition.
