“Half a Surgery is No Surgery At All”

To those clicking through,The Chesed Fund’s featured campaign from Vaad HaRabbonim are simply digits on a screen. For 19-year-old Naftali, they are either a “yes” or a “no” to a dark question. The question being, whether or not he will live.

People around the world have been moved by the family’s desperation: In moving video footage Naftali, weak and pale, struggles with a hoarse voice to plead with strangers to help save his life.

After a year of rigorous treatments for his stage 4 cancer, it has been determined that he must fly to New York immediately to receive surgery and treatments.

The generosity of those who have chosen to help, however, is unfortunately not yet enough. The boy must get to America and afford the necessary procedures as soon as possible in order to live. For Naftali, half a surgery is no surgery at all.

The family is watching the campaign’s progress closely, praying that enough will be raised to give him a chance at a cancer-free life. Each passing hour, the situation’s urgency progresses. It has become a race against cancer itself.

Many choshuve rabbonim have supported the campaign, including Rav Yaakov Hillel shlit”a, Rav Naftali Nussbaum shlit”a, and Rav Ezriel Auerbach shlit”a. Those who wish to join the fight to save Naftali’s life can donate here for a limited time.
