Stop doing. Start being. Chief rabbi of South Africa, Rabbi Warren Goldstein, extolled the Brooklyn community for maintaining the Shabbos Project, now in its sixth year.  “This is the sixth year of the Shabbos Project,” he reflected, “and what began as a small event in South Africa has now swelled beyond our wildest dreams sweeping over the entire Jewish world.”

“I would like to thank the incredible rabbis of BJX, Rav Yitzchok and Rav Moshe Fingerer who do so much year round and have been such committed and creative Shabbos Project partners from the get-go,” said Rabbi Goldstein.

Brooklyn Jewish Xperience (BJX) is kick-starting the Shabbos Project this year with a Challah bake, Thursday evening, October 25th. This is a exceptional opportunity for Jewish women from around Brooklyn to come and unite with their less affiliated friends and colleagues as they together mix ingredients and braid the challah. Registration for the Challah Bake closes Monday, October 23rd. Do not miss this opportunity to sing, dance and joyously create some delicious Challah along with other women. The excitement for the Shabbos Project is growing. “People want to know how they can make a difference and get involved,” says Rabbi Moshe Fingerer, Menahel of BJX. “The people in our community are encouraging other Jews to experience Shabbos,” he said.
