The establishment of Yeshiva Ner Moshe has transformed the Yeshiva world until today. At its inception, it was a small yeshiva with a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the bochurim had a close kesher to the Rosh Yeshiva. In the words of Mr. Moshe Furer, a talmid from those years, “When I came to Yeshiva Ner Moshe, I was a typical 18 year old American bochur, and the hanhalah, Rav Avrohom Gurewitz and Rav Sholom Shechter, gave me my inspiration for life.” Mr. Sruly Schwartz described his years in Yeshiva Ner Moshe, “People who have been in Yeshiva Ner Moshe twenty or thirty years ago all feel like one family. If I could go back to any years of my life, I would definitely choose my years in Yeshiva Ner Moshe.”

Then, as now, Yeshiva Ner Moshe pioneered the innovative concept of caring for the physical needs of the bochurim, with full dormitory arrangements, including all daily, Shabbos and Yom Tov, arrangements, so the bachurim are able to focus exclusively on their learning without distraction. This concept has proven instrumental to the yeshiva’s tremendous hatzlachah.

It is upon the shoulders of that core group of early talmidim that the yeshiva has grown and prospered. And in 2005, the Roshei Yeshiva once again answered the call of the hour and refocused the yeshiva to serve the American bochur who was looking to learn Kodshim. According to R’ Boruch Goldberger, a recent alumni of the yeshiva, “Many of my friends from Yeshivas Ner Moshe feel that their main years of shteiging that established their foundation of Torah learning, were their years at Yeshivas Ner Moshe.” In the words of R’ Ari Weiss “Some of my best years I was zoche to have in learning, were my four years spent at Yeshivas Ner Moshe”.

Currently Yeshiva Ner Moshe is housed in its own building in the Givat Shaul neighborhood in Yerushalayim, and boasts over 180 Talmidim. They are treated to nearly daily shiurim from Rav Yankel Liebeman shlita, who is a renowned expert in Seder Kodshim according to the Brisker derech. The Roshei Yeshiva HaRav Avraham Gurewitz shlita and Rav Sholom Schechter shlita are true role models in hasmadah and Yiras Shomayim. Rav Chanania Manies shlita is the beloved Menahel of the yeshiva, who has a close kesher with the talmidim, and says weekly vaadim to the bochurim in Emunah.

Yeshiva Ner Moshe…pioneers in Torah learning…answering the call of the hour, where today’s bochurim carry on the legacy of the original group of bochurim. Please join us as we celebrate the achievements of the past of Yeshiva Ner Moshe, building upon those foundational years, toward a bright and productive future.
