The 4-Year-Old Recites Kaddish For His Father; His Mother Says, "I Can't Digest This- My Children Are Orphans?!"
Nechami Rubin, the wife of Yehuda Rubin, who was killed in the tragedy, now needs to raise three orphans alone: "Right now I'm unable to feel anything -it's too overwhelming." Little Yonason recites Kaddish for his father at the funeral. The family is accepting donations in order to cover the couple's debt of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
The Meron tragedy left Nechami Rubin, the wife of Yehuda Rubin z"l who was killed there, a young widow who now needs to raise three small children alone. One of them, the four-year-old Yonason, recited Kaddish for his father while accompanying him to his eternal rest.
"Right now I'm unable to feel anything -it's too overwhelming…I remember the moment when they came to the house to tell me that Yehuda is no longer here, and I simply couldn’t digest it. I said to myself, 'My children are really orphans?'
My child asked me after the funeral, 'Why doesn't Abba move? I saw him in the tallis but why isn't he moving?'
It's not possible to explain. My daughter cried so very much. I can't process this. I was waiting for a change in my life but I never thought it would be in this way…"
