How to Implement the Love of Gemara in Your Child

Yisroel Weiss- D. Harris

One of the sweetest sentences a father could hear…

“Tatty, I love learning gemara!”

Unfortunately, however, too many of our children never gain an affinity for learning Gemara. For a variety of reasons, they don’t understand the underpinnings of gemara, what makes it “tick…” and therefore, they decide that “Gemara is too hard!” and the Yeshiva years pass… locking children out of the pleasure, the beauty, the wonder of learning Gemara.

Every parent and Mechanech knows the drill when this happens: Times drags on endlessly as they sit in class. When a yiddish kindt  doesn’t understand the shtikkel gemara that his class is learning, (which seems to be coming to the other boys in his class so easily… somehow…) they are, rightfully, very bored. Boredom leads the child to misbehave… So the Rebbe feels they have no choice but to say “Moshe! go home and don’t come back until….” The Rebbe is right of course, but so is the Talmid, in a sense…

The child is sure he’s a failure. His self-confidence plummets. The vicious cycle continues… and can lead to places and experiences that would make many a Jewish heart shudder.

But it doesn’t have to be that way!

Lamdeini, a novel and new approach that helps children learn, understand, and bond with Gemara, is a path to love of torah learning that every child can harness to succeed!

Under the guidance of a talented group of mechanchim and led under the hadracha  of HaRav Yitzchak Berkowitz shlita, Lamdeini has Baruch Hashem already rolled out their pilot project for a select school– and has met with outstanding success and siyata deshmaya.

A special Chinuch event and Melava Malka is being held at the Tamir Hall in Yerushalayim, on the Motzei Shabbos before Shavous, at which prominent mechanchim and Rabbonim will be speaking on this important topic. Speakers, including Rav Berkowitz, Rav Elefant, and Lamdeini’s Rav Oratz among others, will present important practical tips, ideas and strategies for parents and educators.
