WATCH: Farrakhan Goes On Anti-Semitic Rant; Hikind Calls On DNC Chairman To Denounce Racist Remarks

(VIDEOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is calling on Tom Perez, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, to condemn the hateful, anti-Semitic pronouncements recently made by Louis Farrakhan. During a widely publicized speech delivered in Chicago on Sunday, Farrakhan made numerous anti-Semitic comments, including, “the powerful Jews are my enemy…White folks are going down… Farrakhan has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew.”

“Sadly, there are too many members of our party—elected officials who should know better—who are eager to condemn racism when it comes from the right, but turn a blind eye when it’s from the left, or, in particular, when it’s aimed at Jews,” said Hikind. “It’s hard to be a Democrat in the face of this hypocrisy, this obvious double standard. Congressman Danny Davis is just the most recent example of a prominent Democrat who is willing to associate with Farrakhan while turning a blind eye to his racist, divisive philosophy.”

Hikind said regardless of whether it comes from the left or the right, Democrats should find racism fully unacceptable. “I appreciate Chairman Perez’s leadership and believe it would be enormously beneficial for all of us if he shows true leadership on this extremely important issue—for the sake of not only the Democratic Party but our entire nation. Young people in America, to say nothing of the rest of the world, look to see how prominent voices in positions of power will respond to Farrakhan’s dangerous, hateful rhetoric. It is imperative our party’s chairman encourages other Democrats to stand up and speak out against Farrakhan’s Hitler-esque invective.”

  1. It’s about time a Democrat said something about this black Nazi. Anyone who supported Obama should have their tail between their legs after the photograph of them hanging out together came out.

  2. It is time for the Democrats to come clean and totally disavow support for Farrakhan and his hateful remarks. They can no longer “dance between 2 opinions”. I say this especially about certain black politicians who cozy up to the Jewish community at primary / election time and who otherwise openly show support for this perennial hater. These politicians consistently ask for inclusion when they openly support a terrible person such as Farrakhan. OK guys it’s time to show whom you really back!!!

  3. The only video I see are snippets of his speech. It is not possible to make an accurate judgment of what he said without the full context. Calling out Liberal Jews who control Hollywood and destroy the world with the shmutz they produce is not anti semitic, it is dead on accurate. I also see he differentiates between Good Jews and Bad Jews. I am suspicious of the official narrative that Farrakhan is an Anti Semite. I am not convinced. I think he is an angry man who feels his people have abused and he feels they have been abused by the white man and by some Jews.
