WATCH: HaRav Yitzchak Sorotzkin Rosh Yeshiva Mesivta of Lakewood on “Stop The Talking In Shul”

One Response

  1. With all due respects to Rav Sorotskin shlita, I heard from my Rosh Yeshiva years ago that talking in shul is important!

However one must know that this is AFTER completion of the prayers, NOT during prayers. According to my RY, talking is the cement that brings one Jew closer to the next and if they don’t talk AFTER DAVENING, when will they smooze?

There is NO ISSUR in speaking in a shul, it is NOT a ‘bait kenesst’ which is forbidden to talk, sleep, or even learn in, it is a ‘shul’ which is built with the provision that we can eat there (kiddush) learn there, and even take a sloof….
