Rep. Weiner Skips Israeli Day Parade

Rep. Anthony Weiner ditched the Israel Day parade for the first time in years as the congressman continues to avoid answering questions surrounding the ongoing saga of an inappropriate picture that appeared on New York Rep. Anthony Weiner’s Twitter feed.

Weiner – who married a Muslim in 2010 – is famous for walking down the parade route every year and yelling “Am Yisroel Chai” (Jewish Nation Live) on a megaphone”.

Several of his fellow Democrats and political rivals questioned why the congressman was nowhere to be seen.

“It has become a huge distraction,” said former city Controller William Thompson Jr., a likely Democratic mayoral contender.

“It has become a circus. Every answer raises another question.”

U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said Weiner should have attended the parade up Fifth Ave.

“I’d like to see him here,” he told reporters before marching. “He cares about Israel and [is] very active in the Jewish community and he ought to be here.”

Some question if Weiner is actually Jewish, but that question was already answered to YWN by his mother in a video previously published on YWN.

  1. please, he is a hypocrite. he is jewish and marries a muslim? really, i highly doubt he is jewish, just because his mother says so, i dont believe it!!!

  2. I would assume that he was fearful of the crowd reaction to his marriage was a reason that he skipped the event. If I had done such I wouldn’t appear anyehere publicly.

  3. So, this year he meekly mumbled “Am Yisroel wakbah.” He’s got enough problems; muslim wife, twitter scandal and the wrong last name. And now you’re dinging on him for not attending an Israel rally? Imagine if he would have!!

  4. He marries a Syrian Muslim. He sends suggestive pictures of himself to a young girl. Someone we really want to identify with a a Jew, right? Is he the best Jew we can muster to show solidarity with Israel?

It’s good he stayed away. He’s an embarrassment & a disgrace.

  5. One might imagine that he would probably feel very bad getting laughed at by everyone along the route. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is anxiously hoping that he’ll be offered an APPOINTED position where he won’t have to face the public again.

  6. Machmod – what a low life. He thinks his name is shumer of the community. He finaly put his foot where the sun doesn’t shine- shame on him. We know he had a BM – now his getting his rightful cutting – off from politics

  7. “Some question if Weiner is actually Jewish”????
How many goyim do you know that marry a muslim and then walk in Israel Day parades shouting Am Yisroel Hi?

Now you know what it means politicians in bed with the enemy. My money says the Mrs. is the one who “leaked” the photo – and her boss Hillary put her up to it. Hillary’s stuck with a “Jewish” “son-in-law” – she hates Jews too.

  8. He did the right thing staying away.

What disturbs me is that other than this article, there is no mention of this wonderful parade at all in YWN. That’s wrong.
