I understand people davening a bit louder during ???? ??? ?????, but why do people have to yell during certaing parts of ?????? on ??? ?????? I had to plug my ears to minimize my headache during ?????. When I used to daven (for the last 20+ years until this year) in a certain Chasidish Shtibel in Boro Park, they did not yell.

Karliners are known to yell as part of their davening.

Please, please tell me that this title is not a way of censoring the word Hashem. As it is, it is a Bizayon to write Hashem with symbols instead of letters.

    Good point. Edited.

I don’t know about you, but when my phone battery is almost gone, I use a lot more physical force than necessary when using it those last few minutes; even though it would work the same way if I used it as usual, with minimum force. It’s called human psychology.

There’s a difference between raising your voice and shouting. There was one kid in my shul whose pitchy shouting really pierced right through my migraine. I was finding it difficult to concentrate.

Maybe to test if you will pay attention to your own prayers.

It’s hard enough to concentrate with just the migraine. I didn’t need some kid’s screeching as a ‘test’

Mayan_Dvash: I sympathize with your situation, I’m sure it was tough and irritating. I am not being judgmental about it nor will I try to farenfehr why people scream to deafening decibel levels. But it reminded me of this post from a year ago.

    Rosh HaShana thoughts:

(please don’t take that as mussar. I am not one to give mussar and I have NO IDEA how you reacted at that moment, so who am I to judge you. I just wanted to to share something it reminded me of) Cheers!

Interesting, I think it shows a lack of ?????, that one has to yell…perhaps Rav Tzvi Meir is ???? ??? ?????, had ??? ?????, that this person’s ????? had to do with those loud kids. Other shuls of a particular Chasidus don’t “lack ?????” i.e. they don’t yell ‘?’ ?, although they may say it a bit louder…

I don’t know which Shul you’re referring to. Could be they wanted to place one more desperate heartfelt plea for life at these closing moments. Maybe it was a bit too hard for them to contain themselves at this crucial moment, knowing their very fates were being finalized and sealed at that moment. Maybe this particular Shul allows for people to display earnest feelings, expressions while connecting to or communicating with their Creator. No, they do not lack Emunah at all. They take Davening seriously, enthusiastically, with a fiery zest. ????? ??? ?????, HaShem likes live, active attention to Avodah, not laid back, unemotional, passionless service.

And I don’t think Rav Tzvi Meir is one to be ridiculed.

Maybe its cuz a lot of the physical acts we do is not so much for Hashem but for ourselves. Does Hashem need our priase? Does Hashem need to even say anything out loud? No. Its all for us because we need the concrete action to feel the connection.

So Rav Tzvi Meir was Mechaven to Eclipse’s brother:

I wasn’t ridiculing Rav Tzvi Meir, but BaalHabooze shouldn’t compare himself to Rav Tzvi Meir either. I think ultimateskier got it right saying that we do it for ourselves.
