Since there are no knitting groups in Boro Park, I would like to start one. If there is interest, we could then find a location and a time to meet.

Does one have to know how to knit to join this club?
Posted 6 months ago # -
I would love to learn how to knit. A girl in camp once showed me how and i did some, i loved it! It was some time ago and i do not remember anything about it so i would love to relearn it all again (it was not that much anyway) This would be a gr8 opportunity for me to learn a new skill and something that i think that i would enjoy.

I am not an extremely experienced knitter. I need help myself. But I am able to teach someone how to knit and purl. There is a huge amount of tutorial videos on the computer on You Tube. That's where I go to if I have a problem or I go to the knitting store where I usually purchase my yarn. I would like to have join us an experienced knitter who would be able to help us. I have no problem teaching to knit and purl. I think we need a couple more people to join and then we must find a location. I don't have room in my apt but maybe we could go from your apt to another's apt each week. That's only an idea. If any of you have ideas, please let me know.

You do not have to know how to knit. If you crochet that is fine too.

I think we should hold the knitting club right here in the coffee room. What better place can there be to learn how to organise threads, to spin yarns, to create phishing lines etc etc

The cr is also a great place for purls of wisdom, contrasting opinions, and, you should know, leaving us in stitches...Posted 6 months ago # -

To make fun of someone trying to start something purposeful and is serious is not really nice!

Knitchick: ms critique (who MAY always know the answers correctly but may also not) accused me of making fun of you when you are trying to start something purposeful. So let me ask you; did you feel made fun of? This was far from my intentions and I'm sure that you didnt feel this way. I was just trying to be Shticky!
Has anything come of your great idea? Let us know. I'm dyeing to find out if anything is looming on the horizon re your club. I know that I am being a bit of a sew and sew for asking, but its been needleing me for the past few days so I thought I wont be a knitwit but will ask you if you think your club could really have a point in 2011? Or will people just say "Oh, I'd rather be strung into the web of online shopping and buy my own darn sweater"?

There is a great crocheting class given by (I think her name is) Ruchi Gross in Flatbush.
You could probably find her number in the Yiddisher phone book.
My neighboors friend went on a whim and enjoyed it.Posted 6 months ago #
