Because even thought he doesn’t really need it, he may, even subconsciously, want it nonetheless. So do him a favor and ignore his needs for his taivos.
When someone says “this person needs no introduction,” he really means “I don’t know enough about him to give an introduction so I guess it sounds good if I say he needs no introduction.”

How could a person’s reputation precede him? How could he have a reputation before he even exists?
