  1. The REAL Chodesh Adar (the real one raised his hand)

Let's keep it a happy month, thinking happy thoughts, letting go of the gloomy, morbid moods, changing our attitudes to happy, cheerful. An attitude transformer. Marbin B’simcha – we keep going, more and more! Mitzvos done with Simcha get extra credit!

  2. One more thought (Uh Oh)
At the time of Yitzchak Avinu’s birth, Sara Imeinu said כל השומע יצחק לי, Rashi quotes Medrash that says ‘A lot of barren women were remembered with her, a lost of sick were healed that day, a lot of Tefillos were answered that day, therefore a lot of joy was in the world (at that time)’

The connection to me is obvious. Avraham Avinu and Sara Imeinu, being the Shleimim (wholesome) that they were, couldn’t relish in their own joy and happiness, while seeing neighbors and friends suffering. So INCLUDED with their Tefillos for their own Yeshua, was a Tefillah others. A true Shaleim cannot enjoy own blessings while his friend is lacking. Perhaps that is the essence of Purim, Matanos L’evyonim, Mishloach Manos, because for one to experience real joy, all his friends and neighbors must be happy too.

On Purim we get a bit selfish, we even give to others, just to make ourselves happy!

Let's try to hold on to that idea!

(Forgive me for .. it’s another outgrowth of my thought contraption)

The word b'simcha are the same letters as the word machshava. Your happiness is dependent on you and your thoughts not any outside circumstances. Happiness is a state of mind.

  6. Actually I wanted to add a short story I read some time ago. It was in the middle of the war in some camp, where a father risked his life to get his son a morsel of bread. Later he found out that his son give it away to some other child. Naturally, he berated his son for it and told him how much it cost him to get. His son answered him “Totty, I didn’t do it for the other child, did it for myself”.
