   Tell them what makes you special, tell them what makes you you, what do u bring to the table, what kind of chessed have you been involved in stuff like that they just want to know who you are.

   Some questions are just ridiculous. When I was interviewed they asked me, "If you could compare yourself to a fruit, what would it be and why?" What should I have said?! A prickly pear? A lemon, because I'm always sour?!

   I went to four sem interviews and not one of them asked me about comparing myself to fruits or animals, nor did they ask why they should accept me. What they did ask is why you would want to attend their sem which is a very fair question - what is it that made you turn to them instead of elsewhere... the academics, the atmosphere, the hashkafa....
