Is it a lack of emunah to worry about getting into seminary?
Emunah in what?
konwing it is one thing,and and feeling it is another. dont let yourelf feel bad if your worried about sem,your totally allowed to! Your worried abotu how it will affect the rest of your life,that the sooner you find out the better so you can plan.Its not saying you dont trust Hashem,its saying you understand its not in your contorl but htat you honeslty dont konw whats happneing
You shouldn’t worry about things like getting into seminary simply because you have no control over it. Therefore, it won’t help whether you worry about it or not.
This is really your Yetzer Harah trying to distract you from the things you should be worrying about: the things which you DO have control over- like bad middos you can fix or aveiros that you can overcome… Rather loose sleep over things like that! (even though its secretly really fun to think and worry about sem! but don’t let it get the best of you!)
I’m not saying that sem isn’t important- it is!- i know, im in the same boat! but its just pointless to worry about, because at this point there’s not much you can do (besides daven!) to change the situation.
I am very worried about getting into seminary. I don’t know what I would do if I got in, considering that I can’t afford the tuition, and I’m a fifty year old man. But that doesn’t mean it’s a lack of bitachon – perhaps it was meant to be that I should worry, as a punishment for the times I did too much hishtadlus for things like buying food and stuff.
