Hamas Demands the Release of Terrorists for Information on Missing Israelis

amAmid reports Israel is continuing behind the scenes efforts to obtain the release of Avra Mengistu from Ashkelon and an unnamed Israeli Bedouin, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced he will not give a shred of information about the two without Israel releasing prisoners. This case is somewhat different as the two Israelis were not abducted, but entered Gaza on their own. Mengistu, who is believed to be in Gaza for over 10 months, is described as mentally challenged.

It has also been reported that former Quartet Envoy Tony Blair has been enlisted to handle the indirect behind-the-scene talks between Israel and Hamas to gain their release.

The Hamas prime minister is equally uncooperative regarding Israeli efforts to bring home the bodies of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Sgt. Oron Shaul for kvura in Israel. They were both killed in Operation Protective Edge during the summer of 2014 and Hamas terrorists abducted their bodies.

Al Arabiya reports that in his Eid al-Fitr address, Haniyeh stressed that “we will not speak with or give a scrap of information before our people in Israeli prisons are released.”

  1. Here we go again! We’re going to have to release killers, hundreds of them, because the world is going to pressure us to do so!
Kill the skunks! Feed them pig every day while in jail until they’re killed and wrap their bodies in the pigskins when they die!

  2. totally agree with yaapchik!
the killers of malachi rosenfeld/rosenberg were released so that gilad shalit could come home!!!
i have nothing against shalit, but i’m just wondering how he feels after being told that malachi was killed (indirectly) by him!!!

  3. Perhaps Israel should go back to the idea of imprisoning from the West Bank Hamas members and then offering them in exchange (a taste of Hamas medicine and a discouragement to further kidnappings) The legal explanation can be membership in a terrorist group

I disagree with exchanges but to blame shalit is ludicrous.
