Clifton, NJ: Jewish Community Concerned After Slaughtered Goat Head Found On Street In Residential Neighborhood

g1 Jewish residents in Clifton New Jersey were shocked to find a slaughtered goat head on their street, Wednesday morning. In one of the attached photos, you can see that a dead squirrel was placed next to the goat head.

Residents spoke with the Clifton Police Department which removed the goat, and residents have reached out to the FBI which are investigating the troubling incident as well.

Many theories are being passed around by the local community, including a possible nearby voodoo cult locally. However, many are also concerned because of current events and heightened global anti-semitism.

  1. “Vodoo”??? I think not unless you think the Bobover Rebbe shlita is some kind of witch doctor. How short your memories. Back in 2010, we read on these pages the following:

“Outrage against the Bobover shul and yeshiva reached a peak when one of the talmidim at the kollel studying shechita slaughtered a calf on the yeshiva’s property and left the carcass hanging from a nearby tree. When authorities responded to complaints about that, they found bloody parts of the calf in a classroom. That episode brought a $5,000 fine, which the Bobover paid.

Not sure what chassidus in Clifton will claim responsibility for the goat. In any event, the squirrel definitely would not be approved by Badatz.

  2. What’s everyone getting so excited about? Maybe the goat and the squirrel had a heavy brawl, and this was the unfortunate outcome.
