100s Protest Detention Conditions for Suspected Jewish Terrorists

jail3Hundreds of persons participated in a protest against the conditions under which suspected Jewish terrorists are being held, in administrative detention, by police and the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet). Persons held under administrative detention cannot defend themselves for there are no charges brought against them, no evidence, and no court hearing. Often, the suspects are prohibited from meeting with their attorneys.

About 300 people took part in a motzei Shabbos the eve of 24 Kislev protest on behalf of youths recently arrested, believed to have played a role in the fatal arson attack of an Arab home in Duma, in the summer of 2015. Three PA residents were killed in the attack, parents and an infant boy. Another child sustained serious burns over his entire body. The protest was held opposite the Petach Tikvah facility where the detainees are believed to be.

Participants in the protest explain “Instead of dealing with the [Arab] terrorism as they should, the security establishment abuses Jewish youths with administrative detentions and dozens of administrative orders restricting the movement of recipients. The ISA uses unaccepted interrogation methods including sleep deprivation and violent shaking, preventing detainees from meeting with an attorney, and methods not even deployed against [Arab] terrorists”.

Marchers expressed outrage over the fact that ISA agents are busying themselves with locking up Jewish youths instead of stopping the ongoing wave of Islamic terror. They explain some of the youths are being interrogated for hours on end under unacceptable conditions and no one is protecting the rights of these individuals.

Honenu reports on Sunday morning 24 Kislev a Kiryat Arba mother of two small children was taken by police together with her baby daughter by Shai (Shomron-Yehuda) police. No explanation was given as Honenu is working to determine the need for her detention.

  1. These so call innocent yinglach in most cases have engaged in violent behavior and property destruction against innocent Palestinians in “price-tag” type innocents. Their actions and threats have triggered substantial violence and bloodshed. The authorities are rightfully detaining them lest they trigger more bloodshed. In reality, more of the should be prosecuted rather than released after some period with simple warnings.

  2. To #1,
Since you are so certain that these imprisoned individuals “engaged in violent behavior and property distruction” why don’t you bring forth the evidence you’ve been hiding so that they can have a proper trial? If you can’t accuse them of any crime, you must let them go. I’m sure you’d be humming a different tune if it was you imprisoned and abused for months with no charges and no attorney.

  3. Too bad we didn’t see any great rabbis or those with other leadership positions there. I guess that’s what happens when it isn’t THEIR children locked up with no charges presented.

  4. “innocent palestinians?”
first of all, probably you live in chul, there are no “palestinians.” They are arabs, who have succeeded in fooling the world that they are a people who have always existed, perpetrated by uninformed or leftist/liberals, including Jews, who enjoy repeating their false narrative. No palestinians, just arabs, nikuda.
    Second…innnocent? show us one.
thirdly, if you do indeed live in the land of the free, then you know that there is such a concept as innocent until proven guilty, so even if these kids and mothers, and fathers are accused of spraying graffiti, which is of course, oh, such a violent act, then they must be presented with the evidence, provided a lawyer, have their day in court, to counter the evidence, provide alibi, etc. No supposed democracy imprisons youth, mothers, fathers, with no charges, no attorney, children not allowed to speak to parents, in underground bunkers, tortured, with the sole purpose of getting one of them to confess to something he never did, arresting their family members and showing them photos to make them worry, etc etc. If you and all the rest of you reading this supposedly frum newspaper feel comfortable with what is unfolding over here then I would proffer that you are not even Torah Jews, because neither “democracy” nor Torah allows for this miscarriage of justice. It’s not your children though and not your family, so no skin off your back, as they say, another bit of evidence as to the fragmented nature of our existence as a Jewish people, and the sole reason we still do not have Moshiach.

Thank you for the truth & accuracy in honest reporting. We as a Jewish kehilla are so fragmented- that only if it effects my group – do I empathize or care?!?!

RACHMANUS….either evidence, intelligence records, or leads can keep someone in jail…. If not …LET MY PEOPLE GO!!
