Ketzaleh: Our Tzibur Needs A Leader With Character And Decision-Making Abilities

1Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh), a former leader of the Ichud Leumi party, feels that despite all the commentary and explanation, the current reality facing Amona; eviction, represents failure by the dati leumi community and its leaders and is an achievement for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and not for Naftali Bennett as some are trying to explain. He laments that once again, police, mounted units, Yassam commandos and others will be out in force to pull the residents of Amona out of their homes.

Katz commented on explanations that the current situation represents an achievement for Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett. From Katz’s point of view, Bennett has two options and should be telling Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that either Amona remains or Bayit Yehudi pulls out of the coalition.

Katz used his Facebook to explained “Bibi will make certain there is not a majority for the Regulation Bill [vote in Knesset on Wednesday] as he did the last time [Amona was evicted] because Bennett never told him “There will not be a coalition of Amona falls”.

Ketzaleh explains there is no need to white wash words and offer explanations for the bottom line is Amona is being removed.

Addressing Bennett’s handling of the matter, Katz says “Bennett has a great deal to learn from Bibi. Regarding [political] survival, there is no one better than Bibi. Our tzibur must learn and search for a leader with character and a decision-making ability with a clear statement [of purpose]. We cannot stop the geula process of Israel, and it appears the current leadership did not merit leading us to the next stage”.

  1. Ketzaleh is a very nice guy but an awful politician. His demands for ideological purity have led him time and again to break off from political parties, to sit in the opposition (including to right-wing governments!) and to political irrelevance. There is a certain segment of the D”L/charda”l population that thinks as he does and as often as not they vote for a party that doesn’t make it into the Knesset. Most voters of B”Y tend to be more pragmatic and prefer the leadership of someone like Bennett.
