candle originalHaRav Yehoshua Greiman Z”L, 60, was niftar during the night of 3 Adar (Tuesday to Wednesday) in Bnei Brak’s Mayanei Yeshua Hospital. The rav was a well-known figure, serving at gabbai at Itzkowitz.

Rav Greinman suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed about a decade ago. However, he was in shul and attending shiurim and was even shaliach tzibur with mesirus nefesh, serving in his father’s shul, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Shaul Greinman ZT”L (nephew of the Chazon Ish ZT”L ZY”A) at 8 Wolfson Street in Bnei Brak.

It was Rav Greinman’s minhag to visit kivrei tzaddikim in northern Israel monthly to be mispallel for the klall, and this too was with mesirus nefesh and it was difficult for him top ambulate.

The rav’s situation began to deteriorate about a half year ago and he was later admitted to the hospital where he was sedated and intubated.

On Wednesday morning following shachris, HaGaon HaRav Sharya Divilitzky was informed of the petira to which he responded with tears, stating “He never was a part of Olam HaZeh at all”.

Brothers of the niftar include Maggid Meisharim HaGaon Rav Baruch from Tifrach, HaGaon Rav Avraham Dov of Tzfat and HaGaon Rav Avraham Yeshayahu Rosh Yeshiva Kfar Ganim, HaGaon Rav Shmuel Moreh Tzedek Yeshiva Meoros Hatorah and businessman Rav Moshe who formally was on the directorate of Ponevezh.
